Absolutely Villas - Cala San Vicente

Cala St Vincente is a traditional Mallorcan fishing village situated in a quiet pretty cove of four sandy beaches just 5 kms from Pollensa and Puerto Pollensa. Fishermen still launch their boats and repair their nets from the beaches.

Cala-st-Vincente sits close by the foot of a beautiful pine clad valley that leads down to the secluded sandy coves, and is surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery. It has three beaches, a few small restaurants, cafes, shops and a doctor’s surgery, and is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday.

The beautiful surroundings with rolling hills and the impressive views of the Tramuntara mountain range are a magnet for hikers, walkers and cyclists. A particular feature of the landscape is the grassy, flower dotted terrain, with its ferny forests and gnarled olive trees, which is bisected by a river called the Torrent de Buger.

Of the beaches, Cala Barques is the nicest beach – spacious with a few bars, restaurants and shops dotted along the front. There is a path round to the small sandy beach Cala Clara. Further on round the headland are the sandy beaches of Cala Molins and Cala Carbo.

The village has supermarkets open from 8am through to 8pm (Mondays to Saturdays) and open to 6pm on a Sunday, for a relatively small resort there is also a good selection of bars and restaurants.

One feature of the village is a fully restored windmill with new sails, the Moli de Can Garindo. There are other windmills on the outskirts of the village that have been left in their original condition. The original village limits are marked by some ancient crosses known as the Creus de Terme crosses, and these were in the past used to celebrate the Holy Week processions. The Church of Sant Pere is the oldest church in the village; construction being completed in the 1700’s
