Switzerland
Switzerland - Chocolate, cuckoo clocks and the cradle of Alpine Skiing in the Alps, fabulous chocolate box villages, superb scenery and Swiss efficiency are terms often used to describe Switzerland. Switzerland has been in the heart of British skiing ever since the first package skiing holiday was organised by Sir Arnold back in the 1920s to Switzerland.
Switzerland is home to some amazing ski areas - Zermatt - dominated by the famous Matterhorn, St Moritz, Davos, Verbier to name a few. Unfortunately due to the strength of the Swiss Franc skiing in Switzerland has always been expensive - but does it have to be?
A number of years ago we discovered Tzoumaz (- where ?!). Tzoumaz is a small Alpine resort that links into one of the big gun ski areas - Verbier and the 4 Vallees. Located on the other side of Savoleyres to Verbier, Tzoumaz at 1500m links into the main Verbier ski area by a new fast bubble lift that rises up to 2355m. From here you have direct ski access into the Verbier ski area and the best thing is that you can stay in Tzoumaz and ski in Verbier for a fraction of the cost of staying in Verbier its self!
